Halloumi is an unripened versatile cheese that can be baked, grilled, or fried because of its high melting point and then becomes soft and savoury!
It is usually quite salty and best to rinse or soak in water for ±30 minutes or up to 24 hours if you find it too salty. Allow the halloumi to fry or grill on medium heat without touching it. If you use a good quality non-stick pan so that you don't need to add any oil, if not, it is best fried using Olive Oli. Halloumi does release a bit of liquid as it cooks and doesn't tend to stick. Serving suggestion: Sprinkle with toasted Sesame Seeds and/or Red pepper flakes to enhance flavour.
